Woman killed during rescue attempt honored

"A Twentynine Palms woman who died while trying to save her sister during last summer’s flash flooding in the high desert was among 26 people honored with Carnegie Medals for heroism on Thursday. " the desertsun.com | Local briefs for Friday, Sept. 24, 2004:

The same brave woman that the City Manager and members of the City Council maligned in the Desert Trail and in other local MSM was honored for her bravery. Another example of a civic disconnect by city officials.
